ATITUDES E MOTIVAÇÕES EMPREENDEDORAS EM CRIANÇAS: ESTUDO EXPLORATÓRIO

Resum

A sabedoria convencional sugere que a aquisição de atitudes e motivações empreendedoras no início da vida tendem a ter uma influência positiva no comportamento empreendedor futuro. Apesar de tal argumento generalizado, existem muito poucas evidências científicas que corroborem tal afirmação. O objetivo deste estudo é compreender quais são, atualmente, as principais atitudes e motivações das crianças, avaliar como essas atitudes e motivações se relacionam com outras variáveis relevantes, ou seja, sexo, idade, escolaridade, vocações e aspirações das crianças e ocupações dos pais e avaliar qual é a influência da educação nas atitudes e motivações das crianças. Para a prossecução deste objetivo,
reunimos dados primários de crianças usando uma adaptação do Entrepreneurial Attitude Survey. Foram estudadas quatro turmas do 3º e 4º ano de um colégio do Porto com um contexto pró-empreendedor e o estudo foi centrado nas crianças. As análises exploratórias e econométricas evidenciam que os diferentes determinantes têm impactos distintos sobre as atitudes empreendedoras das crianças - realização, inovação, autocontrolo e autoestima.
